The LHS Cheer Freshmen team received excellent and superior ribbons during their evaluations at camp, the JV team brought home a superior ribbon at every evaluation, and the Varsity team earned superior ribbons at all their evaluations during camp. The Freshmen and Varsity teams earned the TEAM Award during their evaluations. The TEAM Award is the award that goes to the team that displays great team unity while performing their cheers and chants, this award is voted on by the other teams at camp. The JV and Varsity teams earned Technical Excellence awards during evaluations as well. The JV team earned a Technical Excellence award in the area of jumps, displaying the best jumps in their evaluation group. The Varsity team earned a Technical Excellence award for motions, displaying the sharpest, cleanest motions in their evaluation group.

Throughout the week at camp the LHS Cheer Varsity team took home the coveted SPIRIT STICK every night at camp. All three teams earned a SPIRIT STICK on the final day camp displaying genuine spirit and sportsmanship all week!

On the final day of camp, each team has the opportunity to compete in various competitions. The LHS Cheer Freshmen and Varsity teams competed against other freshmen and varsity teams at camp and won the CHAMPION CHANT competition. They exhibited the best technical and crowd involvement skills during a chant. The JV and Varsity teams competed against other teams in their divisions and both teams walked away winning the TOP TEAM award (in the performance category). Both teams displayed the best overall technical and advanced skills in their divisions.

LEO the Lion, our mascot, also earned awards while going through his very own mascot camp. He was nominated for the prestigious Mascot All-American Team, the Unity Award, and the Crunch Time Award!

The LHS Cheer program also earned a very special award while at camp. The HERKIE TEAM AWARD, this award is presented to the team that exemplifies true team spirit, unity, values, and leadership throughout the entire week at camp.

We are very proud to say that for the second year in a row the entire LHS Cheer program was nominated for the NCA All-American team. Nikki M., Randi K., Madison M., Tara M., Nikki T., Kylie M., Allison W., Ashlee M., Meagan M., Amber W., Traci M., Paige S., Amanda R., and Alex W. were all selected to become part of the All-American Team.

At camp, NCA has the choice to invite seniors to become part of the NCA family by extending them an application to try out for NCA. Amber W. (Captain) and Tara M. (Co-captain) continued the tradition of having a LHS Cheer member asked to be on staff. These two young ladies were recognized for having great overall technical skills and great leadership!

We are pleased to say that our entire program has been invited to perform at any one of the following NCA special events: performing in the pre-game festivities of the Orange Bowl in Miami, Fl; traveling to Orlando, FL and take part in the NCA Christmas Extravaganza at the Walt Disney World Resort; or traveling to Oahu, Hawaii during Thanksgiving to give a halftime performance at the University of Hawaii football game.

We are so proud of all of our accomplishments and eager for more to come during the school year! Thank you for all of your support and encouragement towards Leander High School and our cheer program.
